Verb. To succumb to an excessive indulgence in recreational drugs, to become stupified by drugs. Originally referring this state when high on heroin. E.g."I was so smacked out I fell asleep where I was. Although waking up under the kitchen table was a bit of a surprise." See 'smack'.
